New Romantic

2

Milan Menswear for Spring 2012 is underway and the focus seems to sit with the late Great Gianni Versace who popularized a bold and vibrant way of dressing with bold colors and vibrant prints, his aesthetic is rife this week at D&G and Versace with the use of bold and exuberant colors in fabulous prints that exude the 1980's and the whole era of 'New Romantic' dressing made popular by Duran Duran, Adam Ant and Human League.

Graduate Fashion Week

Charlotte Rutherwood - Nottingham Trent

As her collection entered the dim-lit catwalk all eyes were on her as her graduate collection from Nottingham Trent University hit the Catwalk to represent a new level of talent Britain has yet to parade - as the country with the most individual talent around.

Her collection featured a Rustic-ly rich color pallet which made her collection although soft, very prominent for me to remember.
her collection of 6 looks featured everything from a floor length fringe dress made from wool and my favorite look, the last exit on the catwalk - a sheer blouse in a light cream and a pair of trousers which i felt had a huge reference to 'Where The Wild Things Are' but i also felt the collection had a secret economical message regarding polar ice caps which Chanel also made a present trend topic for Winter 2010 which is now an iconic show.

Charlottes collection although subtle with a twist was the one collection that remains one that stuck out the most out of all the outlandish and bold collections other students gave us, that not said all were a fantastic feast for the eyes and the University has shown their students have a unique and talented vision for us all to marvel over.
